Happy St David's Day

Hello All! We just wanted to wish everyone a very happy St David's day today on this March 1st 2007 (my birthday month - Hurrah). This morning I had a wonderful memory of St. David's day back in primary school here in Deganwy. Mum used to cut us each a fresh dafodil, wrap the stalk in tin foil and pin it to us before sending it off to school. I was so small that my dafodil looked like it was walking all by itself with me hiding somewhere behind it. It arrived before school before I did. The situation was made more complicated by the fact that I was usually wearing a black felt Welsh ladies hat. Basically I looked liked a walking hat with a dafodil pinned to it! We'd then have a lovely day at school with lots of lovely welsh singing and hearing the story of how David became a saint - the story of how he regained the sight of his blind teacher used to impress me. Also dinner on St David's day at school was always served with a leek, the boys always dressed like the welsh rugby team and it was a jolly good day all around. I miss those days - the moral of my story? Kids enjoy school while you can you don't know how lucky you are, Mum's please try to tailor flowers to the size of your child!!
Happy Day - Dawn (and Gem - who was always taller than me so never had the dafodil problem!) xx
